It’s the end of August and what a strange few months it’s been for everyone the World over!

Flash back to February and pre-covid life was looking very different to how it is now. I was working in my new flower shop job at The Grounds and loving it’s busy craziness! There were several trips planned to visit friends and family and to have them visit us.

Here we are, 6 months later and nothing is the same for anyone. I haven’t seen most of my friends and family for 10 months now and it’s likely to be a whole lot longer still. I lost my brand new job that I loved (along with many other people I’m sure) and going back to teaching in lockdown felt pretty depressing.

Tentatively, Australia is beginning to recover. Life is picking up again, albeit in a bit of a different way. We are all having to adapt in order to survive!

The best thing to come out of it all for me is a renewed passion for Lush Floristry. I originally planned to rest my business while here in Oz but now I just can’t wait to get up and running again. Flowers have helped keep me sane out here through the tough times. Even in the midst of Lockdown I was able to get out on my bike and forage for a few local stems and my neighbours enjoyed a socially distanced work-shop in my garage!

Now restrictions have lifted a little I’m so ready to share my passion with others again. In the coming months here at Lush Floristry we will begin running our popular workshops again. The classes will be smaller and we will be ensuring that they are covid-safe workshops but the creative side will be in full bloom again. There will be hen party workshops, kid’s creative workshops, baby shower activities, flower crown workshops and so much more. Head to our workshop page to see what we have in store and to book your place.

Please spread the word and bring your friends. Together we can dust off the covid cobwebs and get creating again.

For now, I’ll leave you with a few photos of some of the flower designs we have created over the past few months. It’s always fun with flowers and we are so excited for the future of Lush Floristry in it’s new Sydney home.
